Report NVC webco oxo-biodegradable plastics in Saudi Arabia

21 December 2017

The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is preparing the introduction of mandatory requirements that articles made from plastic must be oxo-biodegradable. As a result the debate on the use of these materials has intensified. On 15 December 2017 Michael Nieuwesteeg and Helen Crowe hosted an NVC webco on this subject.
Helen kicked off the meeting by giving an update on the status of the KSA regulations. She then demonstrated how you can check whether your product is part of the scope of the regulations. Michael then gave a summary of the presentation that he gave during a workshop organised via the KSA government and national standards organisation SASO in Riyadh, KSA.
If you are an NVC member, please contact Helen Crowe for the presentation and/or for more information.
