PhD thesis: The pursuit of user-friendly medicines

02 October 2017

On 27 September 2017, Kim Notenboom successfully defended her thesis “The pursuit of user-friendly medicines: older people in the hot seat”. She performed research on the difficulties people may experience when using medicines, for instance with the opening of packaging or with the breakability of tablets.
Her thesis addresses the user-friendliness of medicines. Using medicines is a complex process during which many difficulties can be experienced, for instance with the opening of packaging, the breakability of tablets or the administration of eye drops. Prior to her defense she held a minisymposium about user-friendly medicines where several speakers gave their views on the matter.
