NVWA: 1/3 of labels of toddler milk still do not comply

19 April 2017

Many labels of toddler milk products do not fully comply with the requirements set by legislation. The situation has improved compared with 2014, when only 15% of the labels of the products that were investigated complied. Right now, 68% of the investigated brands meet the requirements. This is one of the conclusions of the research that the NVWA performed on the labelling, presentation and commercials for toddler milk in 2016.
Seventeen of the 25 investigated products complied with legislation. ‘Comply’ means that all rules concerning the use of food and health claims on the label, commercials and presentation have been correctly applied (NVWA, 21 March 2017).
