NL chemical industry publishes climate road map 2050

04 April 2018

In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80-95 percent by 2050 as a chemical industry, investments are now required. The sector already now must focus fully on the further development of technologies that are not yet profitable. An internationally competitive playing field and cooperation with the government are crucial in this. The introduction of a worldwide CO2 price as soon as possible is a prerequisite for making investments in new processes that are currently not yet profitable.
All this can be read in the Roadmap 2050 'Chemistry for Climate', recently presented by the Association of the Dutch Chemical Industry (VNCI) (News Item VNCI, 7 March 2018).
