Internet users find their way to online courses

On 10 November 2017 the OECD announced the publication of the report ‘OECD Digital Economy Outlook 2017’. The report includes interesting information about online learning. Over the last few years, ICT’s have contributed to a wider array of learning opportunities and education programmes through the development of online courses and in particular massive open online courses.
In 2016 on average around 10.7% of Internet users followed an online courses. This percentage varied from 37.4% in Canada to less than 3% in Turkey. In European countries, participation of internet users in online courses has been generally lower in recent years compared to Canada, Mexico or the United States.
