EU: Policy recommendations for skills strategy in paper sector

16 December 2016

The Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) and industriAll Europe have presented a set of policy recommendations that should contribute to a more comprehensive skills strategy in Europe. The recommendations include promoting workforce adaptability and versatility, focusing on upskilling and life-long learning and facilitating workers’ mobility.
The recommendations are the result of an extensive research project carried out over the last 2 years. The project was triggered by the observation of profound changes in the industry. The agenda was therefore to ensure that the European paper sector has an adequately skilled workforce (Press Release CEPI, 25 November 2016).
