Global ‘green’ packaging market 2017-2021

11 May 2017

According to a new report by Technavio, the global green packaging market was valued at USD 12 billion in 2016 and is expected to surpass USD 15 billion by 2021. Packaged food and beverage companies are demanding eco-friendly packaging materials that are also visually appealing to consumers.
The per capita consumption of bioplastics in APAC countries such as India and China is expected to increase. The key drivers responsible for the growth of the bioplastic market in emerging countries are the increase in manufacturing output for consumer goods, the rise in demand for packaged food and beverages, and growth of urbanization in these countries (Press Release Technavio, 17 April 2017).
