US Closed Loop Foundation report: ‘Plastic Film Recycling’

02 October 2017

Flexible packaging is commonly made from several layers of different types of plastics bonded together, with each layer serving a function. This presents recycling challenges because it is not currently technically possible or feasible to separate the materials.
In September 2017 the Closed Loop Foundation published a study with the title ‘Plastic Film Recycling’. The study characterizes the categories of flexible packaging and offers insights on challenges and trends to determine how investors can best impact this sector. The study found the key opportunity for investors to make an impact is by investing in end market development to increase the value of these materials.
