Factory of the future, Industry 4.0, cyber-factory or connected factory: Regardless of what it is called, this transformation of industry represents a revolution in manufacturing processes. In the past months, the Department of Data Science & Knowledge Engineering (DKE) has joined forces with several companies with the goal of founding a new Fieldlab in Roermond, filled with state-of-the-art robotic equipment.
This robotic equipment will be shown to potential customers. The Fieldlab will also provide DKE students with access to cutting-edge robotic equipment from company partners that would be hard to access in a university environment (News Item Maastricht University, 3 October 2017).
