Standard European parcel label ready for the market

19 May 2017

Country members of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) have recently approved the Technical Specification (TS 17073) for Postal services – Interfaces for cross-border parcels. Ecommerce Europe chaired the work within CEN to harmonize postal and supply chain management standards to enable one item label for delivery to end customers. “This is a major step forward to really innovate cross-border parcel delivery services in Europe. One of the main causes of difficulties in parcel delivery was closed standards leading to proprietary networks, resulting in unfavorable market conditions for online merchants”, declared Mr. Walter Trezek (Press Release Ecommerce Europe, 12 April 2017).
