SE: Recommendations for circular economy discussed in report

11 May 2017

The Swedish Parliament has published a report titled “From Value Chain to Value Cycle - a More Circular Economy for Sweden.” The report was requested by the Swedish Government to identify existing legislative and regulatory barriers to increased use and reuse of products and to identify and propose new cost-effective instruments and revise existing instruments to promote product reuse.
The report takes the position that Sweden is not considered to be one of the leading countries in the development of a circular economy. It cites the Netherlands, Finland and Germany as countries that already have strategic plans for a circular economy in place (Recycling Laws International, 21 April 2017).
