NL: Government will take on labour shortage

02 July 2018

Because of the current shortage on the Dutch labour market, it is important to get as many people as possible to work. At the same time, the flourishing economy underlines the necessity of getting as many people as possible to work, writes the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment in his letter ‘Approach labour shortage’.
The cabinet wants to make working more attractive. It will also make an effort to improve the connection between education and labour market and the matching between employers, job-seekers, Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) and municipalities. Additionally, stimulating Lifelong Learning is high on the agenda (Press Release Government of the Netherlands, 15 June 2018).
