NL: No statutory norms for mineral oils expected on short term

28 February 2017

Possible statutory norms for packaging that contains mineral oils are not to be expected in the short term. This is the answer of minister Schippers (Health, Welfare and Sports) to questions by Member of Parliament Dik-Faber about the exposure to these possibly harmful mineral oils.
According to Schippers there is still too much uncertainty about which measures could be relevant to decrease the exposure to mineral oils like MOSH and MOAH. Setting up and implementing the monitoring takes time. The monitoring will focus on the level of consumption of the products concerned, the sensitivity of groups of consumers and the availability of analysis methods (EVMI, 23 February 2017).
