NL: Fraud, facilitating converters and food safety

26 October 2017

The Intelligence and Investigation Service of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA-IOD) is increasingly noticing that converters play a facilitating role in committing fraud.
According to director Roel Stevens of the NVWA-IOD this is a specific type of fraud that can pose a danger for food safety and public health. “Converters should be aware that they can play a pivotal role in committing these crimes.” The NVWA-IOD has contacted the KVGO to help create awareness of the problem of facilitating converters. NVWA-IOD director Roel Stevens gives his views on the matter in an interview that was conducted at the NVWA headquarters (KVGO, 5 October 2017).
