NL: Benchmark Municipal Waste: 198 kg residual waste in 2016

23 November 2017

On average, municipalities that participated in the Benchmark Municipal Waste 2016 had 198kg residual waste per inhabitant. The average amount of raw materials that was separated for reuse was 59%. The averagel management costs were €178 per household.
The diftar (pricing incentives) municipalities have the lowest amount of residual waste per inhabitant, on average 129 compared to 216 for the municipalities without diftar. From the group without diftar, the municipalities that have a strong focus on lowering the service of residual waste collection, increasing the service for raw material collection and/or post-separations of pmd showed better results (News Item NVRD, 15 November 2017).
