NL: 4% expects to buy all groceries online in the future

05 June 2018

In 2015, 13% of the consumers bought groceries online every now and then. In 2018 this percentage has grown to 23%. Among millennials it is even more popular: 30% buy groceries online. This is the result of research by Motivaction.
38% of consumers expects to do (part of their) grocery shopping online, even half of the millennials expect this. Only 4% thinks they will be ordering all their groceries online. The consumers that move to online, do not necessarily hate the supermarket. The main reasons to do groceries online are not having to carry the groceries (52%), gaining time (12%) and not being limited to opening times (22%) (News Item Motivaction, 28 May 2018).
