Monitoring biobased economy in the Netherlands 2017

29 March 2018

More and more companies in the Netherlands are active in the biobased economy. The government also increasingly contributes to research in this field. This is mentioned in the annual ‘Monitoring biobased economy in the Netherlands 2017’ of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl).
This monitoring is based on the numbers for 2016. These show that the biobased economy is steadily growing. Both businesses and government are committed to the development of the biobased economy. The number of companies in the report is 1,258, a growth of 17% compared to last year. During that same period the government subsidy for research grew by 11% (News Item RVO.nl, 14 March 2018).
