NL: Healthy choice logo ‘Vinkje’ to be replaced by October 2018

03 July 2017

Minister Schippers has notified the Dutch House of Representatives that industry can take 2 years instead of 1 to phase out the healthy choice logo ‘Vinkje’. From 19 October 2018, it will no longer be allowed to produce products that have the ‘Vinkje’ on the pack. Products put on the market before that time can be sold until stock runs out.
Communication about healthy food should take place according to the new Wheel of Five, like through the food app that the Netherlands Nutrition Centre is developing. Together with the Dutch CBL (Central Bureau Food Retail) they will develop ways to actively inform consumers in supermarkets about using the Wheel of Five (Newsletter Waar&Wet, 20 June 2017).
