Designing the right packaging for seniors
A new book published by Beuth Verlag (Seniorengerecht gestaltete Verpackung – Wie wird die Lesbarkeit verbessert?) provides an in-depth analysis and overview of the readability and recognisability of consumer packaging in the eyes of senior people, aged fifty years and older.
The relevant information must be displayed in such a way that it is easy to understand and also good to ‘re-cognise’. Also the increasing importance of the smartphone is described, for instance to provide a certain advisory role to the senior consumer with unclarities in his/her mind. A catalogue of packaging examples, primarily from the German market, is provided as well. The book is written in the German language.
