FR: Report on future of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)

01 May 2018

A recent report looks at the future of extended producer responsibility (EPR) and its potential role in a French circular economy. The report contains 38 proposals, including displaying the Triman symbol on more products, packaging or points-of display, assigning new quantitative objectives for EPR organizations and imposing financial penalties if those objectives are not achieved.
The report recommends extending product coverage in consumer product packaging to include packaging for café, hotel and restaurant food products. The report also discusses the perceived strengths and weaknesses of the 14 current EPR programs (News Item Recycling Laws International, 11 April 2018).
