CAN countries lead in worldwide e-commerce growth

The global e-commerce market will grow at an average of 11% over the next five years with two countries in Latin America and one in Africa showing very rapid growth, according to a new report by Worldpay.
The Global Payments Report shows that the Latin American e-commerce market is set to grow at a CAGR of 19% over the next 5 years, rising from $59 billion today to $118 billion in 2021 – the biggest rise of any region. The research also found that the 3 fastest-growing countries for e-commerce are Colombia, Nigeria and Argentina. These ‘CAN countries’ are forecast to lead the world with annual rises in e-commerce of 31%, 30% and 24% respectively (Press Release Worldpay, 20 October 2017).
