NL: Advisory report about transparency in food chain

20 December 2016

In 2016, the theme supply chain transparency was explored. From label to digital product information and from quality mark to website or app. Central to this exploration was the complex question of how businesses can improve giving information to consumers about product characteristics, origin, and certification.
They investigated how existing data flows in the food supply chain can be improved and what else is required. The report recommends carrying out a pilot, and therefore a pilot with pork with the ‘Beter Leven’ quality mark was started. The report, with the title ‘A Journey through the Chain’ (Een reis door de keten), was presented to the Dutch House (News Item FNLI, 8 December 2016).
