Effect of chocolate packaging design
Researchers at The University of Melbourne evaluated the effect of chocolate packaging design. They found that how much participants like the taste of the chocolates is affected by their expectations based on the different wrapper designs, especially when expectations created by packaging were not met. Packaging and the environment - what consumers in different countries think
Canada: Preliminary results (2.25 MB) of recent survey by Dalhousie University show that 71% of respondents support a ban of all single-use plastics used for food packaging in Canada. NL: According to the SUEZ (in Dutch) Waste Barometer, 95% of Dutch people believe that separating waste is the way to go. However, people still make a lot of unintentional mistakes, which means that many products still end up in the wrong waste bin. UK: In a YouGov survey commissioned by FCC most respondents said the individual consumer (68%) has the main responsibility for litter from takeaway packaging. Only a minority believed the retailer (9%), the packaging producer (8%) or the local council (5%) to be responsible. How2Recycle has released its spring 2019 Consumer Survey Report (3.86 MB) conveying what consumers think about the How2Recycle program and how it influences their decisions. UK/US: A new survey by Nosto shows that over half of consumers expect fashion brands to be more sustainable. Growth of world population and spending patterns in EU households
The world’s population is expected to increase by 2 billion persons in the next 30 years to 9.7 billion in 2050, according to a new report published by the United Nations (136 kB).
