BE: Flemish Government approves waste implementation plan

08 November 2016

On 16 September 2016, the Flemish Government approved the implementation plan for household waste and similar industrial waste. This implementation plan replaces two previous implementation plans, the plan 'Environmentally responsible household waste management (UMBHA)' and the 'Separated collection small company industrial waste'. The new plan took shape in close collaboration with various actors in the waste and materials sector. The European directives, evaluations of previous plans, and scientific research were also taken into account. The plan contains concrete actions in these fields, both for households and businesses, and puts the focus on the local level (News Item website OVAM).
