Virtual Reality opens up new packaging perspectives

19 December 2016

Acer, Google, HTC, Oculus, Samsung and Sony have founded a non-profit organization of international headset manufacturers to promote the growth of the global Virtual Reality (VR) industry: the Global Virtual Reality Association GVRA.
VR has the potential to be the next great computing platform, also in the world of packaging. Recent examples include a VR stand of Neopost with its CVP-500 machine and a VR packaging line by GEPPIA, both at the All4Pack 2016 in Paris. An NVC Inspiration meeting on VR in packaging (2 December 2016) showed how fast the technology is moving. The upcoming NVC Annual Meeting of Members (30 November 2017, Amsterdam) will be fully dedicated to VR.
