Spotlights on global packaging standardisation

24 March 2016

On 22 March 2016 a special study meeting addressed the future developments in packaging standardisation. Standardisation is making international, voluntary agreements in the interest of both business and society. The world of packaging could not exist without this sort of agreements; examples of packaging standardisation are the definition of dimensions, the description of tests, the implementation of quality procedures and much more.
Ger Standhardt (chairman Netherlands packaging standardisation committee) shared an overview of the international work programme, including accessible design for pharma, the use of recycled materials and test standards for e-commerce packaging.
