NL: Waste disposal logo for compostable packaging

20 December 2016

The Netherlands Institute for Sustainable Packaging (KIDV) has introduced a waste disposal instruction for compostable packaging. The waste disposal instructions are a collection of logos that producers and importers of packaged goods can use on their packaging. The logos make it possible for consumers to see in a single glance how they should dispose of the pack after use.
There was no disposal logo yet for packaging that complies with the EN 13432 standard for compostable packaging. In the Netherlands, packaging that complies with this standard can be disposed of as organic waste as was agreed with the Dutch Waste Management Association (News Item KIDV, 18 November 2016).
