NL: Minutes Dutch House meeting circular economy published

17 November 2016

On 5 October 2016 the Dutch House Committee on Infrastructure and Environment held a debate on the circular economy. The final minutes were published on 26 October. Concerning the Plastic Heroes system, state secretary Dijksma said she is satisfied with what she sees there. 51% of the plastic packaging waste is being recycled.
She also stated that she will commission research on the costs and the effectivity of a deposit system for small bottles and cans. She will send the research to the House in the summer of 2017, together with the evaluation of the Framework Agreement for the packaging industry. The pilot on rewarding the collection of small bottles and cans will then also be finished.
