NL: Results recycling of packaging in 2015 published

26 October 2016

On 5 October 2016, the Dutch Packaging Waste Fund (Afvalfonds Verpakkingen) published a report on packaging recycling in 2015 in the Netherlands. The conclusion is that the recycling rate for all packaging combined (totalling 72%) meets the minimum European target and also the Dutch target. On 4 October the Recycling Network, a coalition of (environmental) organisations, published a news item stating that the Plastic Heroes system for collecting plastic packaging performs very poorly from a financial and environmental perspective. In its press release, the Afvalfonds Verpakkingen states that the figures published by the Recycling Network are incorrect and misleading.
