NL: Petition 'Pricing all bags' presented to Parliament

21 November 2016

In a petition, representatives of the plastics industry have asked for the expansion of the free plastic bag ban to all types of bags. The reason for the request is the fact that the current policy on plastic bags is very effective in reducing the use of plastic bags, but the decrease of environmental impact is annulled by the increase in environmental pressure because of the use of paper bags.
The plastics industry supports their request with the results from the independent report 'Pricing all bags', written by CE Delft. The petition has been received on 25 October 2016 and was put forward on 27 October during the plenary Continued General Debate (News item NRK).
