NL: Discussions about deposit research Wageningen University

02 February 2016

According to an article published in the Dutch newspaper Trouw on 27 January 2016, Wageningen University was inaccurate in its report about the costs of the deposit scheme in the Netherlands. According to Trouw, former state secretary Atsma (CDA) based his conclusion in 2012 that the deposit system for plastic bottle was extremely expensive on this report. In a reaction, Wageningen University states that its Committee for Academic Integrity (CWI) received fourteen complaints. All except one of these complaints were rejected because no ‘breach of scientific integrity’ was found. But the commission does find that the researchers took inadequate care in parts of their work.
