NL: GS1 label guideline now truly international

28 September 2016

At the end of 2015, a new guideline for the GS1 label was introduced in the Netherlands. This is a translation of the guideline of the GS1 Global Office: ‘GS1 Logistics Label Guideline’. This has now been renewed: the rules that were first only applicable to the Netherlands are now officially part of the international guideline – an important step in facilitating foreign trade for Dutch companies.
The changes concern among other things rules regarding expiry dates. When trade items with multiple best before dates are loaded on the logistic unit, the date on the item first to reach expiration is used in both the despatch advice and on the label (News Item GS1 Nederland, 10 August 2016).
