NL: End-of-life phase biobased and compostable packaging

27 October 2016

There is a lot of confusion about the end-of-life phase of biobased and/or biodegradable (compostable) packaging materials. Various parties in the chain communicate in different ways about this. On request of NRK, the Netherlands Institute for Sustainable Packaging (KIDV) has created a guide for clear communication about this subject. The guide contains communication instruments for producers and importers of packaging materials, for municipalities and waste management businesses, for NGOs, governments and media. For consumers it is difficult to know how to discard certain packaging materials. With this guide the KIDV wants to take away some of the confusion (News Item KIDV).
