NL: Evaluation system quality marks for food developed

30 August 2016

Milieu Centraal is structuring the large amount of quality marks for food and sustainability. They have developed an evaluation system, partly at the request of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
With this evaluation system, quality marks and logos can be evaluated in an unambiguous way on the aspects of sustainability, transparency, and reliability. The results will be presented this autumn. Only quality marks or logos with the highest scores for all three aspects can be called ‘substantial’. The idea is that extra positive attention for a select group of ‘substantial’ quality marks will have a stimulating effect on both consumers and businesses (Press Release Milieu Centraal, 11 July 2016).
