NL: Questions about possibly carcinogenic substances in food

29 June 2016

In a letter Minister Schippers answers questions by Member of Parliament Dik-Faber about possibly carcinogenic substances in food. These questions were submitted on 3 May 2016.
The minister underlines that it is possible to set standards “as soon as adequate and reliable data about levels and sources are available. We first need monitoring data based on measurements with validated analysis methods. It is expected that rules that set these standards will not be ready within a year. I will actively participate in the European discussion, and as soon as the monitoring data give cause for this, I will press for setting standards” (Government of the Netherlands, 21 June 2016).
