NL: Training costs deductible from transition fee
The Dutch government (in Dutch) wants everyone to continue to learn and develop during their working lives. In order to encourage employers, they will soon be able to deduct the training costs incurred by their employees for training for a different position within the same company from the transition (i.e. dismissal) allowance. The training costs for another position with another employer are already deductible from the transition allowance.

NL: Inclusive labour market still insufficient reality
A favourable economic situation is a breeding ground for employers to invest in sustainable employability and an inclusive labour market. However, a recent report (in Dutch, 6.18 MB) by the SCP (in Dutch) from the Netherlands shows that there is still much room for improvement. Although employers often feel the responsibility for sustainable employability and an inclusive labour market, they do not always take concrete measures or they are waiting for government policy in this. In addition to attracting new personnel, managing the workload is a bottleneck that employers struggle with the most.

7% companies in the Netherlands use robots
In 2018, 7% of the companies in the Netherlands were using robots. In particular, companies in industry and research institutes used, for example, welding robots or self-steering vehicles in warehouses. Other relatively new ICT applications such as cloud computing and 3D printing have also found their way into Dutch businesses.
