No hybrid work policy in place? Then you are missing these growth opportunities
European businesses continue to miss out on the full potential of hybrid work, according to new analysis by Ricoh Europe. The research (infographic, 2.77 MB), conducted by Opinium polled 6,000 workers and 1,500 decision makers across the continent. Business leaders say that workers are, on average, 4% more productive in a hybrid setting, equivalent to an additional €113 billion to the European economy compared with pre-pandemic ways of working.

Generative AI has an increasing effect on the workforce and productivity
According to KPMG LLP, generative AI has an increasing effect on the way organisations do business and it is already impacting the workforce. In fact, 72% of respondents in a 225 U.S. executives survey said that generative AI could play an important role in increasing productivity.

Employees in UK less engaged, less fulfilled and more stressed in their working life
The CIPD Good Work Index 2023, based on insights from more than 5,000 UK workers, warns of a ‘slow slide into mediocrity’. The report (1.5 MB) shows that several key measures of job quality have fallen back in recent years, impacting individuals, business and the economy in the UK.

Exposure to chemicals in the workplace: EU Council sets out its position
The Council of the EU is ready to begin negotiations with the European Parliament on a new initiative (415 kB) to protect workers from health risks linked to exposure to dangerous chemicals. The amending directive on limit values for lead and its inorganic compounds and diisocyanates will set new exposure limits in the workplace.

Supply chain salaries and careers: employees satisfied, better work-life balance in EU
The Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) has released the findings of their 2023 Supply Chain Salary and Career Report. Career fulfilment remains high, with over two-thirds of respondents reporting high career satisfaction. European professionals have a much better work-life balance – 76% have four or more weeks of vacation and 60% are not expected to be plugged into work after hours.
