EU public consultation: traceability+security features tobacco

30 August 2016

On 29 July 2016 the European Commission opened a public consultation on the implementation of an EU system for traceability and security features pursuant to Articles 15 and 16 of the Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU. The main aim of this consultation is to seek input from the general public and interested parties.
The main policy options have recently been further developed in the Inception Impact Assessment published by the Commission in June 2016. This document forms the basis for the questions posed in the current consultation. Those interested in participating are strongly advised to review it before responding. The consultation closes on 4 November 2016.
