B2C e-commerce market in China: 31% growth by 2020

In a new report Technavio's analysts forecast the B2C e-commerce market in China to grow at a CAGR of almost 31% between 2016 and 2020. The changing purchasing behavior of Chinese consumers, with an increasing number of them preferring the convenience of online retail platforms, is the primary driver for market growth. Factors such as upsurge in the internet and smartphone penetration, rise in online spending easy payment options and increase in time poverty are expected to further fuel the market in the coming years.
At present, the apparel, footwear and accessories segment dominates the market by accounting for over 27% of the overall market share (Press Release Technavio, 11 May 2016).
