02 October 2014

According to a report published in September by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) about 179,000 industrial robots were sold worldwide in 2013, 12% more than in 2012. Robot sales reached record levels in Asia/Australia, in the Americas and in Africa.
China is by far the biggest robot market in the world regarding annual sales and it is also the fasted growing market worldwide. Japan was the second largest market regarding annual sales, but it still has, by far, the highest number of industrial robots in operation. Japan is the predominant robot manufacturing country. More than half of the global robot supply of 2013 was produced by Japanese companies (Press Release IFR, 4 June 2014).
