A new global solution named ‘Verified by GS1’ will provide CPG retailers and marketplaces with brand-verified product data, creating a cloud-based GS1 Registry Platform of unique product identifiers and attributes.

According to CBS (in Dutch), the number of NL retail outlets has declined by more than 11% over the past decade. A new report (7.68 MB) by Bouwinvest looks at trends in the evolving Dutch retail landscape. According to ING (in Dutch), retail sales growth in NL will continue to be 3% in 2020. E-commerce and consumers
NetDespatch has released its 2019 UK Delivery Report (6.44 MB), based on a survey of 2013 UK adults who had received deliveries in the past six months.
OTTO (in Dutch) research finds 78% of the Dutch do not suffer from delivery shame. At the same time, they do think that neighbours order too many parcels. According a CBS survey, half of the Dutch population who have shopped online over the course of 2019 have reported complaints. In 2015, 40% said they experienced problems related to online purchases.

Drone developments
Researchers at RISE in Sweden have conducted the country’s first aerial food delivery project.
ISO has published ISO 21384-3, a standard that specifies requirements for safe commercial drone operations. ASTM and the Global Unmanned Traffic Management Association (GUTMA) have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at helping air traffic managers leverage standards to integrate drones into airspace systems worldwide.
