France: No Green Dot on EcoDDS packaging as of 31 October 2014

30 October 2014

Packaging that is part of the EcoDDS scheme cannot place the Green Dot on their packaging anymore as of 31 October 2014. The packaging with the Green Dot that is in stock is allowed to be used until 31 December 2015.
The Green Dot will not be replaced by the EcoDDS logo. Instead, the crossed-out rubbish bin symbol can be used. It is not mandatory to use this symbol and it will not become mandatory before 2015. The crossed-out rubbish bin symbol must comply with NEN-EN 50419 Marking of electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with Article 11(2) of Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE). EcoDDS was founded in April 2013 to deal with packaging waste from chemicals (News Article EcoDDS).
