Labelling of poultry in Dutch regulation animal products

02 December 2014

The labelling rules for the indication of special poultry farming systems are mainly focused on the indication of conditions for animal welfare of poultry in alternative farming systems and have therefore been regarded as a public task.
A paragraph has been added to the second chapter of the Dutch Regulation animal products (Regeling dierlijke producten) in which the rules from the Dutch Regulation indication special slaughter poultry farming systems of 2004 are included. The rules are only applicable to poultry that has been bred and slaughtered in the Netherlands of which the special poultry farming systems are indicated (OpMaat Waar en Wet, 26 November 2014).
