ECHA Endocrine Disruptor (ED) Expert Group about to begin work

26 February 2014

In February 2014 a new expert group coordinated by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), will begin to provide "informal and non-binding scientific advice on questions related to the identification of endocrine disrupting properties of chemicals." The Endocrine Disruptor (ED) Expert Group will provide advice on screening methods/activities, integrated approaches to testing and assessment of ED properties, and interpreting test data.
ECHA notes that the ED Expert Group was established because "the European Commission is developing criteria for the identification of such endocrine disrupting substances that require regulatory action." (Recycling Laws International, 24 January 2014).
