Danish Ministry report on nanomaterials in waste streams

18 December 2014

The Danish Ministry of Environment has published a report that examines current knowledge about nanomaterials in waste streams and makes recommendations for conducting research to fill knowledge gaps. The report focuses largely on consumer products often found to contain nanomaterials.
The report is particularly concerned about nanomaterials in waste possibly affecting the occupational health of recycling industry workers, the environment if the materials are landfilled or incinerated, and products made from recycled materials that could contain nanomaterials contaminants. It contains recommendations for additional research (Recycling Laws International, 12 December 2014).
