Global polypropylene revenues to rise by 5.8% p.a. until 2021

23 December 2014

Polypropylene (PP) revenues are expected to rise by 5.8% p.a. until 2021, according to a new study by Ceresana. Global demand for PP totalled 55.1 million tonnes in 2013. Little has yet been felt of an economic slow-down on the global market for PP. More than half of global PP output is processed into packaging products.
The largest sales market is flexible packaging made from PP films. Rigid PP packaging, e.g. containers and caps, rank second.
The study includes a concise overview of the different types of PP, production processes and processing technologies and a list of profiles of PP manufacturers, e.g. LyondellBasell, Braskem, Exxon Mobil, Borealis and SABIC.
