USA: Colorado requires marijuana edibles to be sold in child-resistant packaging

02 May 2014

Governor John Hickenlooper has signed HB14-1122 into law, requiring marijuana edibles to be sold in child-resistant, opaque, re-sealable packaging in Colorado State. The new law, passed unanimously by the General Assembly, strengthens and simplifies the retail and medical laws regulating marijuana packaging, as well as other provisions intended to keep marijuana from kids.
The governor also signed HB14-1229, allowing local jurisdictions to submit fingerprints to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for criminal history record checks for individuals applying for a retail marijuana establishment license (News Item Hickenlooper.info, 16 March 2014).
