The global business landscape of the healthcare supply chain is studies in the 6th Annual UPS pain in the Supply Chain survey. The global healthcare is growing, while facing an increasingly complex regulatory and legislative environment. Cost cutting (North America), the prevention of product spoilage (Asia) and guaranteeing product security and authenticity are gaining importance as well.
The top-3 growth strategies are investing in new technologies (temperature-sensitive, e-pedigree, serialisation), tapping new global markets and increasing the use of new distribution channels. Meeting the demands of regulatory compliance is the top concern for two-thirds of the decision makers.
