E-commerce market in Poland
As many as 81% of business customers in Poland use marketplaces for shopping, and over half (56%) buy via smartphones – according to the latest report B2B Customer Journey 2025 (summary, 13.06 Mb), prepared by the Mobile Institute for the Chamber of Digital Economy in cooperation with Allegro Business. The report, published by Ecommerce Europe, shows that the digital revolution in B2B trade is becoming a fact. Almost every fourth company chooses e-commerce as its main purchasing channel, and 47% of customers use an omnichannel approach – selecting the purchasing channel for a specific category or offer.
E-commerce in Europe moves forward, says new report
Ecommerce Europe and EuroCommerce have unveiled their 2025 European E-commerce Report (light version, 2.45 MB). In 2024, the total B2C European e-commerce turnover increased by 7%, rising from €784 billion to €842 billion. Despite global challenges, the e-commerce sector is tapping into new opportunities, embedding itself ever more deeply into the everyday lives of European citizens.
Counting plastic reveals hidden waste and sparks action for online retailers UK
Online supermarket shopping is fuelling Britain’s plastic waste crisis because packaging is less visible to consumers, according to new research from the Revolution Plastics Institute at the University of Portsmouth. The study found that nearly half of UK households underestimate how much plastic they throw away each week, a phenomenon researchers call “plastic blindness.” An article (1.36 MB) about the study is published in Environmental Science and Policy.
