Report: The market is ready for e-commerce

Digital commerce is believed to become an important revenue driver for consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, suggest the web-based surveys conducted by Deloitte University Press. The success for online shopping is determined by factors such as awareness, convenience and experience. Besides the revenue the e-commerce channel generates, companies benefit from the insights into consumer preferences and buying habits that are obtained from data collected online.
CPG companies can stimulate e-commerce adoption by enhancing visibility of expiration dates, improve product photos and information, and provide leak-proof packaging (Article Deloitte University Press, 13 December 2013).
